About the Role

This Community Builder Northam position is a 24-month fixed-term contract with a monthly stipend and UIF contribution. Specifically, SIOC-CDT seeks one Community Builder to extend the Trust’s footprint into the beneficiary areas of Thabazimbi (Northam Area). Furthermore, Community Builders act as community-based resource persons and development ambassadors. As a result, you will serve as a direct link between SIOC-CDT and its primary stakeholders on the ground.


Key Responsibilities

In this Community Builder Northam role, you will support community engagement and programme delivery. For instance, your responsibilities will include:

  • Share active information about SIOC-CDT projects and programmes with beneficiary communities
  • Collect information on community needs, problems, and opportunities to support project planning
  • Identify resource persons and NPO/NGOs that add value to SIOC-CDT’s work
  • Arrange stakeholder engagement sessions across the Northam Area
  • Participate proactively in community platforms and relay stakeholder needs
  • Submit periodic reports to the Stakeholder Officer as required
  • Support administrative and logistical duties for Stakeholder Relations programmes

Who Should Apply

First, confirm that you hold a minimum NQF Level 6 qualification (National Diploma or Degree). Moreover, you must reside in the beneficiary areas of the Thabazimbi local municipality (Northam Area) to qualify. Additionally, you should have easy access to public transport, while a driver’s licence adds an advantage.
